Client: Visual Design & Showcase Company
Company: CADDeziners (caddeziners.com.au)
Project: 3D Printed Flower Boot Model
Background
CADDeziners, a leading Australian provider of 3D printing services, was approached by a client looking to create a flower boot pot model for a showcase display. The client provided a CAD file of the design, and CADDeziners was tasked with bringing the model to life with a durable, high-quality finish and incorporating specific modifications requested by the client.
Project Requirements
- Material: The client requested a model with good finish quality and moderate strength, so Yellow ABS resin was chosen. This material, processed with SLA (Stereolithography) technology, provided a smooth finish suitable for visual display.
- Design Modification: The client requested small holes at the base of each flower in the model, a feature added to enhance the visual effect and align with their display needs.
- Polished Finish: The printed model was to be polished and prepared for hand-painting by the client.
Process
- Quotation and Approval:
- Upon receiving the CAD file from the client, CADDeziners provided an instant quote for the project, detailing costs associated with materials, printing, and polishing.
- Once the client approved the quote, the CADDeziners team proceeded with the design modifications and preparation for 3D printing.
- Design Adjustments:
Per the client’s instructions, small holes were added to the bottom of each flower in the boot model. This modification was made to the CAD file before proceeding to print, ensuring accuracy in the final product.
3D Printing in Yellow ABS Resin (SLA Technology):
- The model was printed in Yellow ABS resin using SLA technology, chosen for its ability to produce fine details and a smooth surface finish.
The ABS resin provided the durability required for a showcase item while maintaining a visually appealing texture, ready for additional finishing work.
Post-Processing and Shipping:
- After printing, the model underwent polishing to enhance its finish and prepare it for the client’s hand-painting process.
- The polished flower boot model was then carefully packaged and shipped to the client.
Client’s Final Touch:
Upon receiving the model, the client hand-painted it, adding a personal artistic touch to bring the design to life. The result was a vibrant, custom flower boot model ideal for display.
Challenges
- Design Precision: Ensuring the holes at the base of the flowers were added accurately required careful attention to the CAD adjustments before printing.
- High-Quality Finish: Producing a polished finish that would take well to hand-painting required precision in both printing and post-processing.
Results
- Customized Flower Boot Model: The client received a high-quality, durable, and beautifully polished model that perfectly matched their design requirements.
- Creative Showcase Piece: The addition of hand-painting by the client resulted in a unique, eye-catching display piece for their showcase.
- Client Satisfaction: The client was pleased with the smoothness of the finish and the accuracy of the design modifications, which enhanced the overall aesthetic of the final product.

This project showcased CADDeziners’ expertise in custom 3D printing for artistic and display purposes.
