Project Background:

Our client approached CAD Deziners with a request to 3D print and paint a segmented pie chart model. They provided STL files for each individual slot of the chart—but there was a major hurdle: the files were incomplete and did not represent a unified, presentable model.

  • Incomplete STL Files: The segments provided lacked critical details, and were not aligned or labeled clearly.

  • Visual Communication Issue: Without labels or a central frame, the chart lacked clarity and did not meet the client’s presentation needs.

Our Solution:

Our design and engineering team got to work:

Redesign: We suggested a new layout where each segment (slot) would be fitted into a central base structure.

Embossed Text Labels: To improve clarity and aesthetics, we proposed embedding raised text on each panel representing the data category.

3D CAD Adjustments: We re-modeled the design for proper fitment, symmetry, and visual appeal.

Material Choice: The final model was printed using white ABS resin, known for its durability and clean finish.

Custom Painting: Each pie segment was hand-painted in a different, vibrant color according to the client’s specification.

Secure Packaging: The finished model was carefully packed to ensure safe delivery.

Final Outcome:

The end product was a vibrant, precise, and professional-looking pie chart model that not only met but exceeded client expectations. The embossed labels added both function and flair, making the chart an effective visual tool for their presentation.
